32GB (8X4GB) NEMIX RAM Memory for Apple MAC PRO 2006 1st Gen 1,1 (DDR2 667MHz ECC FB DIMM)

So far, so very good. The Nemix 32GB RAM upgrade for older Mac Pro desktops are an easy, clean installation (power down to boot back up in about five minutes), and upgrading from 5GB to 32GB of RAM means a ton of headroom on this older but still reliable and fast system. The memory modules themselves come with impressive integrated heat sinks, which I hope presages good reliability.Typically, about halfway through the day with even light mostly-web use (Chrome with a dozen or so tabs open, Skype in background), my system would start to bog down and page to disk a lot -- probably some of the bigger memory-wasting plugins and long, media-heavy pages. 5GB used to be a whole world of RAM; with OS X 10.6.8 and a modest load, it really wasn't adequate. I've only been running with the new memory for a little over a day, but so far, so good -- no paging out, and snappier performance all around. For under $150, it gives my favorite old desktop a new lease on life. (This is part of a multi-step process to update the system, including a later-generation NVidia graphics card and an SSD boot-disk. The last step will be patching the kernel from 32-bit to 64-bit, allowing me to upgrade to El Capitan).

I bought 32gigs of this last year and already I've had to remove 6 sticks due to ECC errors. It's not worth trying to save money with this cheap RAM if it all needs to be replaced within a year.

I admit I was skeptical because I hadn't heard of Nemix and the first couple times I called their company with questions during published business hours, I would only get voice mail. But I got through one day and then decided to order anyway, and for the last couple months the RAM has been working great in my Mac Pro 1,1. I ran Memtest on them after receiving and all modules passed, I hope that continues to be the case.

1 month in running 24x7, so far so good in my macpro1,1 - has the correct heatsinks. did some back and forth swapping my old 10G of apple shipped memory and ran some xbench speed tests - performance is identical, just more. :)thanks for a perfect fit at a great price.

Words can not describe how happy I was to receive this ram. My 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 (flashed to 2,1) runs immensely better now that the ram is maxed. This + SSD gave my 8 year old beast a new life.
