Great for making yogurt!
This spatula thermometer is wonderful when heating milk for yogurt. It sits in the pot and leans against the rim, so I'm not having to turn it on and off and pull it out each time I check the temp. (It would be nice if the handle were shaped so it could lean sideways against the pot, and then I could read it from the side, but that's not a big deal.)I make yogurt in my Instant Pot, and after it boils, I keep the milk around 190 degrees for half an hour using the Slow Cook feature, to evaporate more milk for a thicker product. The spatula thermometer lets me keep an eye on it so the milk doesn't get too hot and boil over. It's even more useful when it's time to cool the milk. I just discovered that milk in a stainless steel pot will cool from 190 to 110 degrees in about ten minutes if you stand the pot in a sinkful of cold water. I'd read that before, but never tried it. I used to hang around for an hour or so waiting for the milk to cool. Now I leave the thermometer in the pot and watch the temp go down second by second as the milk approaches 110 degrees. If you don't want to fill the sink, you can transfer the milk to a smaller vessel (I have a 6qt instant pot and a 3qt, so I just transfer the milk and incubate it in the Mini), and put the smaller vessel into the larger one with cold water and ice.Cleaning the thermometer is pretty easy. The probe just pulls out for washing. The spatula itself is hollow all the way down the handle, so you can use a little straw-size brush through it. The bottom of the spatula is solid, so you have to brush that separately, but it isn't hard to do. I don't think any of the parts are harboring bacteria after washing. All in all, I'm really happy I found this gadget!

Works well, great for candy, caramel, and toffee, used for Meat too!
This is actually our 2nd spatula digital thermometer we have owned. The first was actually purchased in Switzerland, it worked well until it had a couple incidents submerged in water. The first time i was able to take the top head unit apart and clean the circuit board. The 2nd time I was not as lucky and it would not ever turn back on. So I searched Amazon, and here it was!! I tell you this story to let you know to keep the head unit out of water.Other then that is has worked great, some reviews say the temperature was off, but ours has worked as well as the glass candy thermometer for making caramel, and toffee. and to clean we just pull it out of the spatula put the spatula in the dishwasher and wipe down the temperature prob. FYI The spatula has begun to fade in color from the dishwasher, but still works well. I recommend hand washing if you want to keep the color from fading. With it pulled out of the spatula we have even used it as a meat thermometer! There could even be other uses, but beware the tip of the temperature prob is pointy!

If only it didn't break...
This is a really great idea for a product, but I've had bad luck with two of them now; they seem to malfunction in some way or another after a year or two. As a consequence of this latest one dying, I gave up and bought a Thermoworks Thermapen Mk. 4. It cost more (a lot more), but it seems to be working better.(Kudos to Amazon, by the by, who were very good about the return of the second one.)

Just Ok.
I didn't really like using this utensil. I picked it up to help with canning jams. But, the handle is not long enough that I kept feeling the heat and splatter from the boiling lava mixture. (I suggest it is lengthened.) I also found the temperature too slow to read and the little window reader for the temp kept fogging up from the steam of the heat. I would not recommend.

It should be 6 inches longer
It should be 6 inches longer since it really must be held below the display part. If you hold it on the display part your hand covers the display and you may turn off the device by touching a button. You also may loosen the thermometer part from the spoon part. Hold it lower and you only have a 9 inch or less stirring spoon. It does seem to do a decent job of avoiding fogging somehow. Maybe we got lucky with that part.

My first perfect fudge in decades!
I have made Christmas candy for many years using glass shrouded thermometers that clipped to the side which I wound up breaking nearly every year. The fudge final product always turned out poorly. Dad's fudge was a common humorous comparisn. Using the Toppkitchen thermometer, with the slender meat thermometer wrapped by a spatula with easy to read digital display, my fudge was terrific! So good in fact that I was accused of buying it. I accepted the accusation of cheating as the highest possible praise.

Makes tempering chocolate so easy
This is a great kitchen tool if you're trying to temper chocolate. I haven't tried it for anything else, but with the ease of use during my chocolate fun, I would expect it to do fine with all sorts of uses. I haven't taken it above 120 Fahrenheit, so can't attest to it's high temp use, if you're making candy, etc.

Need to scrape away chocolate from rod - but pretty good.
Pretty good. I used it for tempering chocolate and I found it pretty accurate...except that for chocolate, it can harden around the thermometer and then it doesn't accurately display the temp until you clean it off (to clear the chocolate I just scraped a knife on either side of the thermometer rod when it looked like it was covered). Also, I'd prefer a more curved spatula to scrape the bowl.
