2020 is off to a great start with one of my highly anticipated reads from a go-to author!NOTE: While it is possible to read Hero's Haven as a standalone, I recommend starting with Vampire's Faith for a better reading experienceI will admit, some of the heroines in this series made me a little nutty but I absolutely love Haven! All her life she has been told she is either crazy or possessed, and she has finally come to accept crazy as her own answer. Painting is her escape and a means of coping with the visions from her dreams- particularly of one very tantalizing male. Every time life knocks her down, she finds a way to pick herself up and keep on moving forward. And oh boy does she need those skills when her dream world man somehow turns out to be real!Earth is nothing like the realm Quade remembers but he has lived lifetimes during his time trying to keep Ulric imprisoned. Cars, the internet, and even little things like toothpaste amaze him- and his slight obsession with toothpaste had me giggling quite a few times throughout this story! One thing has not changed, and that is his sense of duty. He knows he has to see the Seven's destiny through to the end which will likely mean his own death, so he is hesitant to accept that he may have found his mate after all these years. But it is such a tempting proposition that he is battling his own instincts.Revelations about Haven's origins, her abilities and her past astonish her but once again she finds a way to deal and adapt with a healthy dose of snarky banter and a lot of paint. And she absolutely knows the best way to push the buttons of one very alpha male intent on imposing his will for her own safety whether she likes it or not.Hero's Haven is my new favorite installment of this segment of the Dark Protectors series, hands down! I cannot wait to find out what comes next, but I see a re-read of this one in my not so distant futureARC received via NetGalley

Wow, Wow, Wow!! I absolutely LOVE this series!! I don't know how Rebecca Zanetti is able to write all of these characters with their own individual and unique personalities and still keep her readers engaged and begging for more!! This story is just another success and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!This story is centered around Quade and Haven's relationship and let me tell you... it starts off hot and fast and it just keeps getting better!! The dynamics between Quade and Haven are simply fantastic. I love the sweetness and ... I don't know the correct word... maybe 'honesty' between Quade and Haven. I found myself (again) laughing, crying, and sucked into this world. I thoroughly enjoyed Quade thinking toothpaste is 'delicious' and wanting to acquire more so he could eat it all the time, the nod to the movie Airplane ("Don't call me Shirley"), and the reference to a rose ceremony. The subtle hints to 'daily life', that I could relate to (& I assume other readers will relate to), make this story even more enduring. I love how Quade & Haven both learned to trust and love again throughout this story. Sure, in real life there aren't vampires, witches, Fae, shifters, etc, however the relationships that are built throughout this series is what makes it so fantastic. If you haven't read any of the books in this series I would highly recommend you taking some time and diving in to this world... you definitely won't regret it!! It’s now his job to protect her from the ultimate enemy.Lots of characters from prior books. It can stand as a romance on its own but there is so much back story and an overall arc that it’s better if you know some of the story. Haven has been featured in the last several books. This is her story.As is typically with this series, the men are protective, willing to fight to the death for justice, and a bit overbearing. They do learn to love fully if only after they give a spanking during sex play. The women are independent, smart and just as willing to jump into a fight to protect their family.A fast, and electrifying read.Hope, the expected resolution of the entire series, aka world, is still a child. That means potentially a dozen more warriors falling in love and enemies slain before the series concludes. Good thing this author writes an appealing story. I look forward to the next episode.I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.

Hero's Haven is the eleventh book in the Dark Protectors series. In my opinion, these books are best enjoyed if they are read in order so you know the back story and understand more about the characters.We learned in the previous book about the existence of Haven and how special she was. Her life had not been easy and I hated how she had been treated and how she suffered. While Quade’s determination to serve the Seven and/or die trying saddened me, I understood because he was an honorable male and solider. Yet it was hard to imagine the amount of pain he endured for so many years. It made sense that Haven would be the one to save Quade, and in return he would save her right back. Their chemistry was intense and I loved watching the two characters begin to trust each other and fall in love.Adare and Grace’s book is next. For the last few books, they’ve been circling their attraction and fighting it. I’m anxious to see how they finally accept being together.

Fast paced action, danger and desire along with the continuance of the battle to stop Ulric returning. Totally riveting and I really can't wait for the next one.

Huge fan of this series which I've binge read during the pandemic. Totally takes my mind away into this different crazy world !

I have loved every book in this series. The only think I don't like is when I come to the end off the book because I have to wait for the next one to come out. 😣hopefully won't have to wait to long 😍😍😍

Another remarkable read by Zanetti! I was anxiously awaiting this book and was not disappointed! This book begins exactly where the previous book, Alpha's Promise ended. Haven and Quade's story is one of my favorites. I laughed and cried reading about Haven's life and how she coped in a religious sect. The story begins immediately and is fast paced and non-stop action and suspense. Haven is the most unique mate of all and can travel to different worlds. Quade is a skilled badass that takes down any enemy, without failure, he never quits. Happily I can also see this series is expanding to include stories about The Seven. I can't wait for Faith and Adare's story! I have read every book in this series and it just keep getting better! I highly recommend this book and the entire series, you won't be disappointed!!!!
