I Like it!
I really like both of the books by this author. I purchased her first book at our local health food store and immediately fell in love with it. I purchased this one on Amazon and have been pretty happy with it. It does seem like this book was a little rushed as the directions in some of the recipes isn't quite as detailed as her first book. The first book also has a ton of great tips especially for packing food on the go. This book doesn't have quite as many helpful hints. What I love about both of these books is the inspiration it has given me. I used to pack super boring lunches and now I am really thinking outside of the box and tapping into my creativity (who knew I even had any!!). I make almost every single breakfast, lunch, and dinner for my family of 4 and these books have been super helpful. Also, I love how durable these books are in the kitchen and with little ones who like to drag them around the house! The pictures are also great! Also, keep in mind that this author doesn't cook with kale and brussel sprouts for every snack. This is a snack book and *gasp* does have snack recipes that sometimes involve chocolate and other treats. So, if you are looking for a strictly veggie snack book, you are simply out of luck.

Lots of great ideas for snacks that I would have never thought of. My kids love looking through at the pictures and have picked things to try after seeing just the picture. I like that they have tried foods that they normally would not have tried because they were to ones to find the picture and to suggest making it.The items in here not only work as snacks, but I often find myself turning to this book when I need something to send in a lunchbox to go along with their meal. I have saved money making these snacks instead of buying pre-packaged foods full of preservatives added sugars and chemicals.

Not As Healthy As I Was Hoping For
I was excited to get this book because I make snacks everyday for my kids and send a snack to school with them on school days, so I was looking for new ideas so that we wouldn't get bored with the same things all the time. I will start by saying that the book is very nice. It's attractive, it's clean, and the pages are sturdy. Many of the items have color photos which is really nice. I was really impressed with the quality of the book itself. My family is already a Real Food family so we don't buy anything processed or anything that comes in a box or a package. Everything we make is homemade (including snacks), so perhaps coming from a healthy household already ruined my full appreciation of this book. I was disappointed with how many processed and less healthy ingredients were contained in the recipes. She uses white flour, lots of sugar, vanilla wafers, vegetable oils, etc. She also has many recipes where a sweetener is added to fruit (white chocolate, honey, etc). White chocolate is ridiculously sweet already, I am getting a sugar headache just thinking about it. In our home we often use fruit as the sweetener for other foods, so I don't feel it is necessary for fruit to be sweetened by anything else.I feel like many people have low expectations for what their kids will eat. My kids were raised on Real Food and so they like it. Tastes adapt to what you are used to so most conventional products taste way way too sweet to us. They don't need to be loaded up on sugar to like something. I suppose if you are coming from a standard american diet than this book is a good place to start, but for us many of the recipes would be a step backward health wise. For this reason I was a little disappointed. There are plenty of recipes in the book that we do use and many can be adapted to be more healthy so it is not going to waste. I also use (and recommend) Laura's meal plan on Momables, which gives me new ideas for lunches, but overall I was hoping for more healthy recipes based on Real Food. If you are used to eating lots of processed foods this book is a good way to head towards healthier options, but if you are more well versed in health and have already eliminated processed items from your kitchen then it might not be as helpful if you are looking to continue growing in your Real Food journey.

We love Laura's recipes
We love Laura's recipes! I felt like a giddy school girl to get my copy in the mail! They are kid tested and I know from following her blog and website- momables she puts a lot into each recipe. I love that I can make more healthy versions for my boys, and also appreciate all the time and effort into each recipe. So far the handful of recipes we've done have been a hit! (I've had to double them! But then again I have three boys who could eat half a pizza lol) The chart at the back of the book rocks! :) Thanks again Laura!! :)

Not convinced yet..
I really wanted to LOVE THIS BOOK. Laura's first book has given us some fantastic meals--now staples--in our kitchen. I'm still trying to come around on this one, because she's so amazing. I was put off early on because a lot of the first chapter are recipes involving adding sugary ingredients to fruit. White chocolate chips into raspberries, drizzles, cakes, etc. I have absolutely no problem getting my kids to eat fruit and berries, and adding sugar to them, for me, defeats the purpose. I was really hoping for some healthier, wholesome, creative recipes like her first book. I did make the pizza bites today, and those turned out great. But not really any nutritional value. My 3 year old also loved the banana oat muffins. So I do hope that I'm wrong, and I hope that I am able to find some healthier options besides veggies and hummus-- but just to be honest I am a little disappointed.I also realize that this book does not claim to be a health book. And it is mostly creative twists on some of the packaged or fast food stuff you might normally buy. But these days, for my family, I am in search of anything help me nourish my kid's little bodies, and I'm just not convinced that this book will prove to be as useful as the other. But I look forward to putting more to the test, maybe using her recipes as a guide and adding my own, healthier ingredients... and I will hopefully be proven wrong.

Actually the best (and easiest) homemade snacks on the planet!
I have been following Laura Fuentes for a while now, and have yet to find a recipe that didn't turn out as promised! This book is no exception. I've only had it for a few days and I've already made the banana oatmeal muffins and snack bites. The recipes use ingredients that you likely have on hand, and do not require any special skills or equipment beyond a food processor or blender. That said, you wouldn't know it to taste the finished products. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to get away from ready-made over-processed snacks for kids (and themselves).

Great ideas! I find myself reaching for it a few times a week. The best thing about this cookbook is that the recipes are simple enough that the kids they are for can usually help make them, which makes them even more exciting for them to eat.

I absolutely love this book
I absolutely love this book. It's the first cookbook I own that has really simple recipes using ingredients that I actually have on hand! There are recipes with only two ingredients. I love how many recipes in this book replaces the store bought crackers or fruit snacks, and they are really easy to make. I recommend this to all parents out there, because many of these recipes require very little time to prepare, and they tend to be healthier.

A bit of a disappointment
Although there are some interesting recipes many are far too basic like trail mix and raspberries stuffed with a white chocolate chips. The pictures are pretty but it is far from revolutionary
