French Grammar Drills (French Edition)

I bought this and many other French grammar books to scout out materials for my intermediate students of French at the college level. This is an excellent, concise, and visually clear set of exercises following simple grammatical explanations and examples that almost anyone can understand on their own. What I particularly love about French Grammar Drills, in contrast to most books of its type, is that it uses vocabulary that you can realistically expect students to know and/or understand; so many grammar review books fail in that they use level 5 vocabulary to explain level 2 or 3 concepts ... who's actually going to benefit from that?I intend to draw from this book constantly, and perhaps next semester I will have my students buy it to supplement another book that has cultural material in it.

OMG. I am a French teacher and sometimes I struggle to find appropriate ways of explaining and using examples to teach my students. This books has provided so many means and ways and examples that I have been able to adapt to my own needs. I like the full detailed explanation of all grammar points. I just ordered the French Verb Drills version of this book and I am waiting quite impatiently for that to arrive to start using the wonderful teaching items that are available. This book is now a staple on my desk.

I've used other languages in this series and they're pretty good for practicing and repetition. This is the first time, however, that I bought the Kindle version this is the first time, however, that I bought the Kindle version. I do not recommend the Kindle version as the images do not always display and you can change the color of the page without throwing everything off. Also, the money you save in the e-book version you will end up spending and printing out all the exercises.

I have been reading this book and I found it reallly useful. Chapters take you gradually through french grammar and without many complications. I think it covers the most of topics in general grammar. So if you would only buy one basic grammar book I think this book would meet the expectations. I also bought the version for italian grammar drills of this book and although I haven't finished it yet I liked it too.

I understand that there might be a mistake in the answer key here or there, but that is not what I am scoring here at all.As a LEARNER, I have found this book to be an invaluable resource. I discovered this fantastic book out of true desperation because the French college textbooks assigned to our class at BYU were densely written entirely in French (unsurprisingly enough, praised by instructors and despised by the students), which made them a real nightmare to understand.The French Grammar Drills self-study book, on the other hand, offers clear concise explanations IN ENGLISH addressing the needs and issues of ENGLISH speakers! If I hadn't had this book on hand, I would have seriously struggled in my advanced French college class at BYU.I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with French grammar.

Excellent resource for revising for a French exam. I like the fact that it explains the essence of each lesson in English because it gave me a deeper understanding of some of the things I had already been taught in French that were not quite clear. I have been looking for this type of book for a long time. Most importantly I passed my exam!!!

The print is slightly too small for me but otherwise it is great.

Very attractive and accessible drill book for advanced beginners and intermediate 1 students who, as in my case, need to be taken through French grammar by the hand. A kindle version would not suit me, as I underline, use highlighter and write notes on every page.

I bought this book for myself and another one for my wife so that we could revise our school French. The book is very easy to follow and contains lots of exercises to test the brain - hence why 2 books. I would recommend to anyone starting to relearn or at the intermediate stage.

Great back up learning for my French course. Clearly set out and easy to follow. Pages can be photocopied so you can redo all the exercises
