Bacon Gift Set - Bacon Emergency Kits - By The Bacon Jams (Original Emergency Kit)

I purchased this as a gift for my dad and I too cannot comment on the taste of the contents, but I am disappointed in the fact that the container arrived broken in 4 different places. The container itself is part of the fun and appeal of gift being made to look like an emergency medical kit. The fact that it is cracked, especially in multiple places is disappointing to say the least.

Full disclosure: I did not taste any of the contents since I bought this as a gift...- This kit comes in a very sturdy, waterproof case, similar to a Pelican case. I was surprised by the exceptional quality! I'm sure my brother will reuse it when it's empty.- The jam is a substantial amount, not like a sample size.- The seasonings are in resealable packets.- The popcorn is a single serving but nicely bagged.- All contents fit tightly in the case but there was just enough room for me to squeeze in a few extras I bought to add to it: bacon flavored mints, toothpicks, and chapstick, and bacon scented soap. (You can find these from the Archie McPhee line of novelties.)What a great gift for the bacon-lover in my family!!

One of the jars of jelly was not sealed and oil leaked all Inside the container.

The only thing that kept this from receiving a 5-star rating was that the plastic case was broken in two places: one of the latches was severed and there was a large crack on the back side. I believe that this may have happened because the jars of jams are, of course, bulky and heavy. The case is not sturdy enough to hold them. On the plus side, none of the contents were damaged. The person I gave this to was quite pleased.

The Bacon Jams Emergency Bacon Kit is a perfect gift for the bacon lover in your life. Or for yourself if you love bacon! The kit comes in a first aide type kit that has plastic clips for closure. The clips are a little hard to open and you will need to use extra force to open them. The hinges are just plastic and not very sturdy, so I would not expect the case to last forever. It also has a plastic handle that folds up for easy storage.However, the contents of the kit are fantastic! The bacon salt blend is a tasty addition to a pork roast or loin. Be creative in how you use it! Anything you would like salt and bacon flavor on would go well with the salt. Maple bacon sugar rub is a great way to add sugary bacon flavor to your meats and meals. Rub this on a pork loin or shoulder for a tasty dinner.The bacon spread is great on burgers, roasted vegetables, appetizers, sandwiches and other tasty options. The jar us rather large and will last for a long time. Made with real bacon, it needs to be refrigerated after opening. The only thing in the set that I do not like is the bacon popcorn. It tastes like bacon, but I would have liked it if the popcorn would gave had a sweeter taste.This is a nice gift for someone! I was given a discount on this product yo provide an honest and unbiased review.

I did not taste any of the contents since I bought this as a gift... The Emergency bacon kit comes in a fairly sturdy, possibly waterproof case(looks as though there is a black water tight seal on the inside of the lid. There are also holes in the handle to allow for you to hang it on a wall or inside of a cabnet, and what looks to be a small place to add a small padlock. The hinges and lock latches are made of plastic so although it doesn't look as though the hinges will last forever I am sure that the box will get reused for as long as it lasts. I was rather bummed to find that my kit didnt come with any of the caramel back popcorn. Instead in its place was the chili and garlic back spread. The popcorn was one of the main things that i was excited to try with my sister in law. both the jam and the spread were substantial size jars, not a sample size like one would expect.The included salt and run are in resealable packets, allowing for you to be able to use them more than once with ease. Overall even with the substitution the kit was a huge hit with my sister in law who is not only a bacon lover but also a chef.
