Warchal Karneol Violin String Set Ball End

Excellent strings from a good company
I am about to replace my second set of Karneols with my third set. They work VERY WELL on my violin. They have a warm complex sound with lots of depth. They also age very well. In the past I used a couple sets of Warchal Brilliants (excellent sound), but wore out faster than the Karneols. I liked Tonica's a lot; I like DiAddario Helicore's and use them on my backup violin. Violin strings are always going to be subjective and need to be match to a given instrument, but I have had nothing but good experiences with WARCHAL brand strings.

Found what I want in a string!
I play professionally--soloing mostly jazz and "country" with some classical, at times. On my violin (Think it's a late 19th century Maggini copy with dark sound), they sound balanced, warm and smooth. Takes a few hours to settle. They last for three months if heavy playing and then get a bit tired(harsh, unfocused). So, at this price, slap on another set!Frankly, I've found what I want with Karneols.

Warm and resonant
These are warm and very resonant strings. For my instrument, it's likely the best sounding one I've used so far; this was commented by many teachers. After the strings settle, they are very stable; I barely had to tune after the first week or two. The wrappings are beautiful and the packaging is also nice. You can also save the strings for recycling with the manufacturer. That said, the E did not last very long compared to other string sets I've used but this is a very affordable set.

beautiful sound for a seasoned, mid century german factory violin
These strings quickly impressed my son when new 7 months ago and made for beautiful projection for a turn of the century german factory violin. My son's solo filled the theatre with a sweet, soulful sound with these same strings at last week's concert. The only weak point was the G string which was growly and was replaced by a Helicore heavy.

The Karneol set is even better with the Russian A string.
The Karneol set is even better with the Russian A string. The Karneol set is very good but the A string got a bit dead after a while.

These have a beautiful clear sound
These have a beautiful clear sound, and are not too bright. The low strings especially sound fantastic. I have put these on two different violins and they both sound lovely.
