Perfect for goldfinches
The media could not be loaded. Well made and though I had doubts about the birds finding the very small holes in the feeder It works absolutely perfectly

Nyger seed feeder; 6-perch/6 hole version
It is not the easiest to clean, but this large feeder holds roughly 500g of nyger seed, on my measure, and offers 6 perches with the tiny feeding hole above each that is aimed at the finches. The design has so far foxed the pesky squirrels that kept annihilating (i.e. gnawing) the previous design I had for our now growing number of goldfinches! The feeder, which is seemingly well made & tidily finished off, came ready to use, MINUS the seed, in an attractive cardboard box that measured 11 cm square x 40 cm. With a metal-type lid, which lifts and tips to the side to fill, the feeder is 48 cm long overall, including the non-adjustable height handle. The sturdy, transparent plastic-type tube has an inner diameter of 6 cm.The insert in the bottom stops the seed from collecting at the base and the loss to the ground is seemingly less.Subdued, the brand name is embossed on the lid.The current product detail above states:~ ‘Rust Resistant’Time will tell; any problems I will be back!

Sturdy Niger seed feeder
Very nice and sturdy feeder and due to unique design doesn't spill seeds even in recent strong windy weather. Very pleased I bought it.

No spill
Love this feeder. We were having problems with a feeder we’d had for years - Niger seed spilling and growing. Tried a couple which claimed to be no spill - one was and one wasn’t but they were both yellow. Discovered that goldfinches don’t like yellow and they stopped coming. This feeder is fantastic in every way and they’re back now.

Excellent feeder
A very good design, the best I’ve tried. I bought the large size and the gold finches were on it immediately and drained the Niger seed in no time!

Large feeder, effective design
The design is excellent - a variety of finches can access all of the seeds easily, from different levels. A fixed plastic insert ensures that the bottom seeds are level with the lower feeding slits, so there is no wastage. The feeder is waterproof, easy to clean, and holds plenty of seeds. Highly recommended.(I bought this to replace a feeder where almost half of the seeds in the feeder were inaccessible to the birds, as the seeds reached all the way down to the bottom perch, below the feeding holes. This meant there was a column of inaccessible seeds, which just aged and had to be thrown away. This is a much better design.)

It's okay.
Firstly, there's nothing actually wrong with this. It's well made etc. I made the mistake of buying the small one but that's my fault. I should have bought the larger one which I think the birds prefer. I had a large one from a high street store for years and it was great and loved by the goldfinches. But it lost its lid. I bought this online for convenience. It's been up a few weeks, but not a single bird yet. Maybe they'll come eventually.

Creating a serene bird-watching experience
The media could not be loaded. I filled this feeder with Schoen Farms Nyjer Seeds and hung it on a pole on my balcony. Within a day or two, American goldfinches identified it and began visiting regularly. Typically, they come in pairs - a male and a female. The goldfinches are absolutely beautiful, and I'm thrilled that the environment around my balcony has become so peaceful. This feeder has made a significant difference compared to my previous setup, where I used a plate with various food attracting squirrels and larger birds like grackles and starlings, making the area loud and noisy. Now, it's much more serene since squirrels and large birds are deterred. In addition to the goldfinches, I've also seen chickadees visiting the feeder quite often lately. Both chickadees and goldfinches have lovely songs that add to the tranquility. The only downside I've noticed is that a lot of seeds tend to fall to the ground when birds eat from the feeder. To avoid a messy appearance, I recommend hanging it somewhere where the fallen seeds won't be too visible.Overall, this feeder has been a fantastic addition to my balcony, creating a beautiful and peaceful environment with delightful bird visitors.

Finches Love this Feeder
My last feeder was plastic and the chipmunks destroyed it by chewing on the perches when they tried to get the seed out. Saw this on Amazon and gave it a try - so glad I did. Very sturdy, looks great and the finches came to it right away. And the chipmunks can't destroy this as the perches are metal and there are only small openings for the birds to get the seed from. Very happy with this one!

Holes too small
Luckily, I had a set of small Nicholson rasps and was able to make the holes bigger. Design might only be for goldfinches, but I also have red finches and they couldn’t use the feeder. It is nice to have more control over the seed loss, though.
