These were larger than I expected so pay attention to the dimensions. They are fantastic for art projects. I personally use these to paint on them. I thought it was a great alternative to canvas. The sides are smooth with the rugged edges, but there are no splinters here. well-made and well cut. I highly recommend these for wood, burning or painting they even hold up in my laser engraver.

TLDR: Good set in general…they are the size they advertised as, and they are nicely cut and even. The only thing I didn’t notice until I got them is that the middle is not the natural cut of wood, but filled in with a piece of extra wood. This makes the middle look a little off and I don’t love that. If you are painting these I don’t think it would make a difference, but for me doing pyrography art I do feel like it may be obvious in my finished piece. Therefore I probably won’t use as many of these as I wanted too originally for my art. This is a big deal for me and kind of a bummer, but to others it may not bother them especially if it’s for painting so I still gave 4 stars. Just be aware of this if you are using these for woodburning. Also another thing is you definitely may way to sand them down a little as they are a little more on the rough side.
