Excellent starter pack! This was my first rotary cutter and this was a great beginner product, since it came with everything you need at the start. I absolutely love the quilting sized ruler, it is so handy to have a ruler larger than my normal sewing ruler (without having to get out the yard stick). The rotary cutter takes some getting used to. I bought mine used from Amazon and the blade in the tool was already dull, so I had to replace it. But it came with a pack of 5 replacements which were all sharp and worked great. I like that the extra blades come in a little plastic holding container, it makes it safe and easy to store them.I LOVE the cutting mat. I know there are larger mats out there and I thought about getting one, but I use an IKEA desk as my sewing table, so it's not as big as typical sewing tables, so the 2'x3' size is perfect. Its large enough that I can lay most things flat. Plenty of room to cut quilt squares. I can lay out a bodice or shirt top with plenty of room. I can fit shorts and mini/midi-skirts fine too. For pants and long skirts though, I can usually lay out 3/4 of the garment, before I have to reposition it. It's very thick and self-healing. I like that's its black/green, so I have it black side up, so it blends with my black table. Bottom and left sides have imperial units and top and right side have metric units. Both sides have a 1/2 in grid and 30°, 45°, and 60° cutting lines, super useful for non-mertic users.

I absolutely love my cutter and boards. Only thing is the cutter didn’t self heal in one spot where I put a lot more pressure as u can see in the photos. But still a great buy. It didn’t have marks in the spots I didn’t push as hard on. But the cutter shockingly cuts so good. I wasn’t expecting that. It cut right into trough my jeans. Two layers of denim with no problem. Definitely recommend the set.

Perfect set for the price. I previously gave a temporary review because it came without the cutter, but Amazon sent out another set which included the cutter. I bought this for my wife because she found the items too expensive at her favorite craft store. She loves it. It's well made and perfect for what she does.

Perfect for cutting quilt squares

This set is a good value for beginners to start with, although the coupon advertised was not applied to my order. The mat has a few small cut marks on it that could be from manufacturing. It is a little stiffer than I expected, but that works for me. Be sure to store it flat or it will bend and warp. When mine was delivered the side of the box was crushed and there is a crease one inch in on one of the long sides that I cannot flatten back down. The cutter works good. It was in a half locked position in the package, so check before trying to force it. The extra blades do come oiled and need to be wiped off before use. The ruler is a nice acrylic with easy to read markings.

I'm very happy with this purchase! I was a little hesitant to order because some reviews mentioned the mat arrived folded in half and a few that didn't like the rotary cutter. I'm happy to report mine arrived in a box perfectly sized for the mat & with a section inside to keep accessories secured.The mat is very nice quality & did not have a strong smell, just a light plastic smell that faded in a few days. I looked at so many different brands & that seemed to be the biggest issue mentioned in reviews. I have chemical sensitivity, so that was a big factor in choosing this one. The thickness is nice & I love the size!The rotary cutter exceeded my expectations. It's so simple to use and easily cut through two layers of fabric with very little pressure. I've only used it a few times, but I don't recall my previous one ever cutting this easily.Important note...the replacement blades as well as the one in the cutter have been oiled to prevent rust, so you'll want to remove the blade and wipe the oil off the blade and the cutter before use.

The media could not be loaded. Feels like a good value for the price.At first I thought my rotary cutter was defective, as the spring loaded retraction wasn’t working - but I just hadn’t disengaged the blade lock enough so it was ‘sticking’.Very satisfied and excited to make progress on my sewing projects!

I used the Rotary Fabric Cutter with the cutting mat and it cut like "Butter" baby! Yes, I did say it out loud in the New York Italian accent "How you doin, it cuts like Butter Baby"!
