I haven't used it yet, but it's not hard to comment on it.It has elastic at the back, to allow a range of head sizes. I reckon I'm about average, and it's almost a loose fit. So anybody with a smaller head than me could find it too slack. But then again, it does come down well over the head, so it's unlikely to fall off, especially as it will only be used generally on sunny days, when there's less wind.The fore-peak is in three parts, allowing it to flex and fold. This is a small drawback for me, as it means I can't persuade it to become flatter. But I reckon it won't be a big problem.The flaps come down over the ears and neck, which is their main function for me.Between this and the shading effect of the peak over the eyes, I reckon it will do the job.

We have always struggled to find hats, especially sun hats that fit as well as protecting against the sun. This one is perfect. Whilst it’s larger than most we’ve tried, it’s nice to have a hat that doesn’t make your head feel like it’s in a vice.It covers the ears, back of the neck and the visor at the front keeps sun out of your eyes and off your face. Perfect for all those would be vampires, or maybe just those that like to cover up when it’s sunny.

Purchased for sea fishing on a boat, will never win a style award but very effective at keeping sun off and comfortable which for me is far more important. Appears well made. My head is 7 1/8 th in old money and hat fits well without stretch in elastic.Arrived promptly. Likely to buy again

This item was far too big for me. If you have a small head I would say do not purchase this. I couldn't see when wearing this. Front peak is big too. I'm glad it was cheap so I didn't waste too much money.

This is a great hat. It protects head (obvs!), ears and the back of the neck from the sun's rays.I bought it for my husband who does a lot of outside decorating. It arrived just in time for the 3 or so days we had last year when the temperature went to 33 degrees C!!Highly recommended.

Disappointed as it was far too small even though im a small person also the flap looks longer that it actually is. Not worth returning due to the cost but will give it to a child as that only the size it should really be.

Bought for child’s kit list for residential trip but didn’t pack it in the end as rain all week!! Child has adult sized head hence purchase. Very slightly loose but fine if pulled down properly. Lovely cap and we will be using it all summer. Stops neck burning!

The hat was quite snug, although it does have an elasticated back. The flap is also quite small and sits snuggly to the neck - it could do with being looser and longer.
