Works as described however, the unit is somewhat large on your rearview mirror. The decorative end pieces could have been left off the mould, leaving the mirror looking just like the OEM one with smooth rounded edges. The interface and CPU seem to work well. Video quality looks good. Both rear and front camera take good quality video. The rear cam not as good but still ok. Night vision works ok. Looks like an infrared photo. In parking lots where there are lights and while driving the video looks much better. I hardwired to an open acc spot on the fuse panel with a fuse tap. Now the unit turns on and off with a turn of the key. Rear cam is mounted on the rear glass below third brake light just under plastic housing and does great in this location. Parking lines come on in reverse but the view in the mirror is not that good except at night. Ambient light from outside overwhelms the display. This is also a problem driving during the day. Adjusting contrast up or down does not help. The display is not meant to be used as a driving aid, mainly for playback and menu settings. The rear back up cam while helpful, I would not trust as a precise guide. I do not know if the cam were mounted above the license plate, if any thing would improve much. Overall I am satisfied but if I had to do it over again I would probably go with one that mounts to the windshield instead. Mainly because of how bulky the mirror cam is. 4 stars just because of the size. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy.Update 12/6 has stopped working twice now. I am not happy. 30+ degree weather. Will not turn on. Rejected the memory card that it had previously accepted. Anything more and it's going back. Update 12/18 Was contacted by seller trying to blame me for not reading the info describing the mirror dash cams size. What foreign people not familiar with American culture, don't realize is. My comments were not about my misunderstanding of the product description but on the design and manufacture. It could have been made smaller by a better design. I was just making a comment for future designs. It has since been working properly and was not a memory card issue. Just started working again. The seller wanted me to adjust my review to 5 stars..Well now, I may give it three stars just on their pompous arrogance to think I could be influenced. I though an honest review was important not only to Amazon but also to other buyers.Update 7/27mirror dash cam stopped working after 8 months. will not turn on. tried restset and everything I can think of to no avail. now a waste of $100.

I have been using this dash cam for more than a week. I am a uber driver so it helps me to record the road situation. Camera display resolution is perfect. The touch screen is smooth like iPhone, it’s never lag. I did not installed the back camera because my car already has one. Quality and price is totally matched. Regarding the installation, it’s really simple, just hook up on your mirror. I am highly recommend if you do want a dash cam, you may try this one for safety recorder.

To tell you a little bit about myself, I’m one of those people who travel regularly, for pleasure as well as for work. The places I go can be as far as 2 or 3 hours away. Recently, I even drove 10 hours or so to Canada! Now, as you may know, car travel isn’t the safest way to travel (Thousands of people die everyday in car accidents), but it is perhaps the cheapest option. Given my traveling habits, I wanted to be able to better protect myself. After some research, I decided on getting a camera in the car. I searched Amazon for something stylish and had a good resolution. That is how I found this dashcam backup mirror. After reading the reviews and the product details, as well as doing some extensive comparing with other similar products on Amazon, I decided to give this one a try. Now, I have to say that the camera was worth every cent of what I paid. The high definition of the camera during playback makes it easy to see even the licence plate number of the car that was in front of you. If I ever am ever in a car accident, this would be a lifesaver! Although the front lights of my car are bright enough to see at night, I couldn’t say the same about the back of my car. With night vision incorporated in the camera, I have no need to worry about not seeing what cars are behind me anymore. The mirror is touchscreen, which makes it really easy to switch between front/back cameras as well as different settings with a slight tap of the finger. Best of all, the backup mirror is bigger than the one in my car (It’s 10 inches across) and unlike a couple others mirrors, its design allows for easy installation without taking out the mirror the car came with. Car manufacturers should really incorporate this design as well as ability into their own mirrors so everyone can travel safer and better. But for now, this is more than enough.
