It's worth the price and then some
I have a better headlamp than this which I use for hiking; it uses AAA batteries and has different modes, but it also cost quite a bit more. This lamp is a straight forward twist on/off that, along with it's low cost and light weight, is perfect for my tool box when I have to go crawling into some dark space. I also have other devices that use the CR2032 batteries so I can now carry one fewer size of spare battery. I've ordered a second one for my go bag and am thinking about a third one for my car kit.

Died an early death
This light had just what I was looking for: lightweight for backpacking, hands-free, a bright light so I could see, and the light beam had a narrow focus, important for use in hostals to avoid waking/blinding other people, and a low price. I took it to Europe, along with spare batteries, for my 2.5 month trip. It worked great the two times I used it.However, the third time I tried to use it, it didn't work at all. I tried new batteries - nothing. So even though it was cheap, it was a bad value for the money, since I used it probably less than an hour before it crapped out. I ended up using the flashlight app on my iPhone instead of this piece of landfill. Save your money.

Great for lightweight hiking
Great for lightweight hiking. I used this on my John Muir Trail hike, where weight and functionality are of prime importance. It is extremely light, comfortable, and very bright. The only drawback is that with a brighter light such as this, the battery life suffers a little. But if you're not hiking at night for long periods, it is an excellent head lamp. And the batteries are button cell, which are very light so it's not a big deal to carry spare batteries without weighing you down. Bright enough to see clearly around camp, on the trail, or at home.

Great Light
I got this because it's cheap, and uses the same batteries as my other lights, not because I thought it would be as good as, or better, than my traditional climbing lamp. However, the eGear EQ2 is actually slightly brighter, and has a more focused beam, than my Petzl. I'm extremely satisfied with this item. However, at this price, I do wonder about longevity.I have only one complaint: you have to twist the head to turn it on/off. A button would be better, but since I will typically be leaving it on for hours at a time, this is a trivial inconvenience for me. However, if you think that you'll need to switch your light on and off constantly, then this might be a bigger deal.

Great head lamp!
Great lights, super bright and much lighter than other headlamps because they use CR2032 batteries instead of AAs. I hate the blinking setting which comes on every other time you turn on the lamp, but all you have to do is turn it off and then back on again - annoying, but a small price to pay for such a great lamp. I use mine camping and around the house.

I use this for a bike light when I'm not using it for camping. Works really well! Love them!
