Good product so far, see review for proper wiring instructions
Four stars may be generous depending on longevity; it's only been installed two days. For the money this little photocell is a good value. The best part about it is it works with the LED bulb I'm using. Couple of downsides - the rubber gasket should be an o-ring. The gasket is too big for its purpose. Next, the wiring instructions are USELESS. The diagram on the photocell looks like red should be paired with white, and that is wrong using US wiring standards. US standards are black is hot, white is neutral, green is ground (or just a solid copper wire). Assuming your wiring is the same, the wiring is as follows: all whites (neutral) are wired together (house, light fixture, photocell). The photocell's black connects to the house's black. The photocell's red connects to the light fixture's black. Lastly, it may take a while for the photocell to react (turn on or off). That delay is common with photocell's used with LEDs.

The neck is not long enough
I had to compress the rubber washer quite a bit to get the nut on the neck of the switch. I did get it on and it works quite well.

Works well for a time
I used 2 of these for the lights on my gate posts and they worked well for about a year when the first one went out [would not shut off]. I had to replace it with the same unit as I had custom installed it and similar units do not fit. Then after 3 years the second one went out and needed replacing. So while they work well they may not last as long as expected.

First try was defective
First off the wiring diagram isn't very clear. Tried wiring it as others stated, and left the unit in the dark for hours but it never activated. Fortunately Amazon sent a replacement. The second unit seems to be working properly. For those looking for clarity in the wiring.Black: Hot. Connect to the black from your supply/panel.White: Neutral. Connect to the white from your supply/panel, as well as the white from the light fixture.Red: Load. This is the switched hot wire. This goes to the black on the light fixture. This is standard in the US. Stick with that and toss the instructions.

On “most“ applications It works.
Converted a motion controlled garage light (motion sensor went bad) to a dusk to dawn light with this sensor. Fairly easy conversion. If your going to do like I did you need to observe where the shadow is located at night on your light! That is where the sensor bulb needs to be located. If you don’t place the dusk to dawn sensor in the light shadow area the light will turn on & off about every 5 seconds throughout the night!! Once I figured that out it has worked flawlessly every day.

Works fine in Westinghouse light post (3/8" punch out)
I purchased this to replace a sensor that came with a Westinghouse light post that was DOA. I purchased it specifically because it matched the 3/8" eye needed to fit in the pre-drilled hole with my existing light pole. It came tonight and I installed it; worked fine right out of the pouch. My only complaint is that the leads were too short (only about 4") to make connecting the wiring easy. I was able to harvest the longer leads from the junk sensor the pole had come with and spliced them on with some electrical tape to make it work.

Buyers BEWARE!!!....Its a SCAM!!
After wrangling with the Sellers for over 2 weeks, I finally received the sensors. They had taken orders from several customers, knowing fully well they didn't have it in stock and no way could they fulfill their obligation. Unfortunately the tactics adopted by this seller is to use your money for 2 weeks or till the time you are fed up and complain to AMAZON. The final nail in the coffin is the "bait and switch tactics" adopted by these sellers. The seller assumes all this is legal and it is their birth right to adopt these tactics. After all to them everything is fair and square in business and war. Now that they are holding on to your money, they assume they are in the drivers seat and you are at their mercy. The sensors I received are sub standard and a cheap knock off from what is described, shown or stated in the specifications and the pictures. It is nowhere close to the dimensions either. Apparently the sellers are arrogant, they are displaying one product and pawning off a different product. Thinking they have to provide you with a sensor, doesn't matter if its the same sensor or not. After all in their mind a sensor is a sensor, doesn't matter if it works for you or doesn't work for you, that is not their headache. This seller further goes on to state the customer is their number one priority. Its a figment of their imagination. Do not waste your time or money on this sensor or deal with this particular seller. I wouldn't touch it again with a 10 ft pole. It is a total scam, waste of your time and money. Look for other reputable sellers and products.I would have gladly returned the items, unfortunately I do not wish to put myself once again at the mercy of an arrogant seller who raises capital by holding on to peoples money for 2 weeks. For 10-20 bucks do you really have the time to go back and forth with the seller. Chasing them down and trying to get the right stuff you had ordered and paid for. They are fully aware they didn't send you the right product...according to them "you" as a customer are very picky, after all a sensor is a sensor. Read some of the other reviews for the seller.I have decided to give these sensors to my son, maybe he can use it for his high school projects, assuming they work. You would rather flush a $20 bill down the toilet than deal with these scammers. Sooner or later Amazon will catch up to their gimmicks. Amazon's customer service was excellent, they immediately offered to refund my money.
